Vienna, scenes from the Kunsthistorische Museum

One enters the museum through doors surrounded by figures from myth and religious history. One Austrian favorite, seen in many places, is the beheading of Holofernes by Judith. Then comes the stunning domes, reaching up possibly four levels, and the grand staircase. Photographers may be seen in embarrassing poses trying to get their shots.  A stop in the cafe, a look at artists creating reproductions, and a stroll to the Rafael's exquisite Mary with Jesus and John are part of every trip I make.
